Our client is responsible for research, design and implementation of high-impact talent management solutions

Responsibilities:

The Software Development Manager will lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for the design and maintenance of our client’s proprietary web-based HR and talent assessment system. The Software Development Manager’s role is to ensure delivery of business-critical projects whilst maintaining high morale, managing the day-to-day activities in an efficient and professional manner and ensuring all team targets are met as advised by management, with the support of a dedicated IT Project Coordinator. The role combines contribution to software development with managerial responsibilities, as well as liaising with consultants and project managers to ensure client deliverables are defined and delivered to a high standard

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technologies, tools and techniques used within the team
  • Work closely with the business on issues related to design and requirements
  • Ensure that development standards, policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Drive change to implement efficient and effective strategies as advised by management
  • Develop and implement IT standards and procedures to aid in the development of high-quality software
  • Work closely with colleagues in the business to fully understand the business process and requirements
  • Gain enough business knowledge to be able to actively participate in specifying software solutions for business needs
  • Ensure that all software developed satisfy the business / client requirements as specified
  • Ensure that projects are accurately estimated and delivered to schedule
  • Perform 3rd line support as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT
  • Qualifications in programming and software development
  • Expert/ native proficiency in written and spoken English (essential)
  • Multi-lingual appreciated (Arabic, Indonesian, Spanish in particular)
  • 6-years minimum in software development (with at least 2-years in a supervisory / team leader role)
  • Experience in a web/software development or software testing environment
  • Experience as part of an IT consultancy or professional services firm with an IT-focus
  • Knowledge and experience in HR Technology Systems is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in UI design is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in API creation and web-services integration

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Microsoft ASP.Net (Framework 2.0 and above)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2005 and above)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio (2005 and above)
  • Team Foundation Server (2015 and above)
  • Advanced communication skills – specifically presentational and written skills
